The Physician UPA Was Created For...

  • You are a qualified, board certified physician committed to providing excellent patient care.
  • You are frustrated in your practice of medicine by issues both large and small, including:
    • the decline of the role the practicing physician in moderate to large scale business of medicine concerns,
    • the constant dealings with insurance companies, with the resulting increase in overhead to accomodate their unnecessary "hoops",
    • the reimbursement hassles, and increasing regulations, which regularly amount to unfunded mandates,
    • those who don't understand the downstream effect of their decisions regularly imposing their will on physicians.
  • In short, you are frustrated by our inability as a profession to do anything about any of these issues.
  • You are interested in working cooperatively with fellow physicians to address these issues.
  • Given that you lack the time to spearhead this effort, you are willing to spend the time necessary to research UPA, to see that UPA's "heart is in the right place", and support UPA in its effort to spearhead this effort,
  • You support UPA's fundamental beliefs:
    • If we can figure out how to work together as physicians:
      • We will be better off.
      • Our patients will be better off.
      • Society will be better off.
    • We can figure out how to work together; this is possible.
    • With the changes in healthcare which have occurred over our lifetimes, doing nothing is unacceptable.
